Parameters and Arguments

A parameter is a variable named inside the parentheses of a method definition (Kernighan & Ritchie 1988).

An argument is the value for a parameter used when calling the method (Kernighan & Ritchie 1988).

formal argument == parameter
actual argument == argument
(Kernighan & Ritchie 1988).
